Overview RoviSys is seeking a skilled Lead Robotics and Controls Engineer to design and develop automated control systems in the industrial manufacturing market. Responsibilities PLC and Robotics Programming: Design, develop, and commission PLC and robots to ensure optimal performance.
System Testing and Validation: Conduct testing to ensure control systems meet design.
Installation and Commissioning: Lead the installation and commissioning of systems at the customer’s facility.
Leadership and Training: Lead, train, and mentor team members in controls and robotics technologies.
Required Skills: Proven experience in control systems design and development for industrial manufacturing systems. Expertise in Robotics, with a focus on FANUC, Epson, ABB, and/or KUKA. Expertise in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Mitsubishi). Experience developing robotic cells from scratch including robot selection, offline programming / simulation, and in-person startup. Interfacing with conveyance, robotics pick and place, material handling, end of arm tool.
Expertise in architecting, designing, and developing Ignition solutions. Ability to train and lead others within robotics and controls engineering. Communication and collaborative skills Ability to communicate clearly with clients to understand requirements Interface directly with clients, vendors, and internal resources to drive engineering designs from concept through build and installation.
Preferred Skills: Experience developing vision applications (Keyence / Cognex). Knowledge of Digital Twins (Process Simulate, Emulate3D, etc.). Experience conducting PFMEAs or equivalent risk assessments. Experience with non-robotic servo motion control. Experience withat least one advanced robotic technology: Vision guidance, force guidance, line tracking, etc. Qualifications Compensation & Benefits Highlights Experience with AMR and AGV programming. Knowledge of electrical functional safety systems for robotics and motion control (Category / performance level, etc.). Leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics. Or significant working experience within the industry. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry. Local or willing to relocate near our HQ office in Aurora, OH.
