Come innovate with us!Position SummaryIn your role as a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Controls Engineer role you will focus on comprehensively owning, maintaining, supporting, and improving specialty and bulk gas and chemical Industrial Control Systems at Samsung.

You'll also be responsible for reviewing vendor design packages, engineering support systems, and coordinating the startup and commissioning of newly installed equipment.

Additionally, you will interact with the on-site Equipment Engineering teams and Operations & Maintenance Technician teams to support Control Systems for Chemical, Gas, and Slurry operations.Role and ResponsibilitiesHere's what you'll be responsible for:Providing expertise and ownership for GCS Control Systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems.

Engineer will interact with operations team, construction teams, and equipment vendorsEffective communicating and coordinating with Engineers and Technicians to provide technical support, electrical issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.Controls equipment monitoring and management, including sustaining operations, maintenance, and process & equipment improvementsDeveloping innovative projects focused on improving the reliability and operation of PLC/SCADA systemsDeveloping site standards and Functional Descriptions to ensure GCS PLC/SCADA systems meet GCS requirementsEvaluating processrequirements and specifications of new gas and chemical delivery systems as they relate to Industrial Control SystemsActing as the "Visionary" for GCS Control Systems.

Understand the current state of GCS Control Systems and help determine the path forward for future improvementCoordinating with International vendors and Korean HQ to ensure Controls design packages meet GCS requirements for quality, reliability, safety and productionPerforming Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing, as needed, to support the installation and commissioning process for automated equipmentSkills and QualificationsHere's what you'll need:BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Chemical engineering, or related technical fieldMinimum of 5 years of Controls Engineering experience in an industrialmanufacturing environmentThe current base salary range for this role is between $81,490 and $179,090 Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.

Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.Total RewardsAt Samsung SAS, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
