We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing industry who can provide superb work experience.

This posting is for an existing, immediate vacancy.The primary responsibility of this role is to lead projects in the plan, design development, and implementation of automation solutions for manufacturing processes, integrate and program electrical components and robots and lead, execute improvement initiatives, and ensure that systems and processes are in place to meet and exceed company’s quality and production objectives safely and efficiently.Duties and Responsibilities:Create detailed automation design proposal including controls design, electrical and pneumatic, specifying hardware and components, testing, commissioning, and validation.

Develop and verify safety systems, understand safety risk assessmentsInterpret/read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagramsPrepare and release drawings for new projects, record changes diligently, and release updated drawingsInstall, program, and integrate PLC, HMI, robots, tooling, drives, actuators, sensors, vision systems, start-up, debugging and compliance with internal and customer standardsProgram Fanuc, Yasawaka and Kuka welding and material handling robotsProgram and maintain robots online/offline using (CIM Station, Fanuc Weld Pro, MotoSim, and Robot Studio)Provide ideas to automatemanual operations, assist and present ROI (return on investment) studies for justification and approvalIntegrate specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency and throughput improvements and cycle time reductionsResponsible for preparing training documentation, work instructions, and procedures for effective handover to production and maintenanceManage and/or assist assigned manufacturing engineer to monitor equipment and tooling suppliers' progress through quotation, design, build, and installation stages of all new equipment necessary for new programs and

improvements or retrofits on current processes and equipmentParticipate and contribute in cross-functional APQP meetings to provide input in DFM and GDT analysis, PFMEA, control plans, process capability studies, DOE's, poka-yoke, error-proof plans, root cause analysis, lessons learnedAssist in running lab tests, and compiling and analyzing test dataAssist and coordinate equipment design reviews with assigned manufacturing engineer and supplier(s) using Active’s standard Design Review and Sign-Off Checklist to record open issues and follow up for successful closureAssist assigned manufacturing engineer with all equipment sample runs at the

supplier(s) and Active to ensure a successful run at rate milestone completion based on TAKT time, internal AQPQ, and customer PPAP requirements and standardsEvaluate equipment trial runs and buy-offs with assigned manufacturing engineers for new equipment and retrofits and ensure run and rate, PPH, and essential safety regulations are met per Active, OHSA, ESA, and CSA standardsConduct training for associates on new equipment and processes, monitor progress and ensure timely and effective handover to production and maintenance using Active’s standard Machine Handover ChecklistRecord and compile lessons learned and ensure carry-over on futureprograms/processes/equipmentEstablish Active New Machine Equipment SpecificationsWork closely with plant maintenance staff in troubleshooting equipment issues involving electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, electronics, and PLC programming Aid with specifications for the purchase of electrical componentsProvide expert opinion and guidance on machine and equipment purchaseParticipate in process and equipment root cause analysis initiatives and implement solutions to improve and sustain OEE to Active’s standardsMaintain an open issues matrix for assigned projects and tasks and ensure timely completion as agreed with the direct managerLeadand participate in 8D, 5 Why’s, RCA, and CI meetings for customer complaints, and failures and provide appropriate input to resolve issuesWork closely with the maintenance/tooling manager and skill trades team to increase machine uptime, conduct RCA on equipment issues and follow up on closureSupport the implementation of best practices for the department and the development, monitoring, and application of KPIs (productivity, cost, quality, safety)Other duties as requiredEducational Requirement:Bachelor’s or college degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics, Automation or Mechatronics, Systems Engineering P.

Eng. designation from PEO desirable Project management experience; PMP designation desirable Qualifications and Experience:Must have 5-10 years of verifiable experience in controls and automation in the automation industry or manufacturing environment Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or similar package(s)Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block/ST logic, you have working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Beckhoff, Siemens, AB, etc.) and electric circuits consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches, and proximity sensors, etc.Hands-on

experience applying electronics, pneumatics, and electromechanical devices is a mustProgram Beckhoff/Allen-Bradley/Omron/Siemens PLC's and HMI'sPerform basic wiring work and general installations, identify causes of problems while developing methods of correctionKnowledge of and ability to troubleshoot industrial networks, machine safety circuits, and applicationsUnderstanding of VFD, DC, and Servo Drive systemsProficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC, and HMI programmingVision systems experience would be an assetKnowledge of MS Office packages (word, excel, PowerPoint).

Knowledge of Visual Basic, and Macro in Excel is highly desirableKnowledge of MIG spot welding and tube bending processes would be an assetAble to work in a fast-paced environmentSolid technical communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervisionAble to work under extreme demands and tight schedulesAble to accept directions and change directions as requiredExcellent English language, communication, and presentation skills (both verbal and written)Basic understanding of WHMIS, IMDS, Ergonomics, Healthy and Safety regulationsWillingness and ability to travelOur team includes members with a wide diversity of culturaland technical backgrounds, ages, and experiences.
