Requirements:

Education: Recent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

Hands-on Project Experience: Demonstrated experience designing, building, and testing electronics through university capstone projects, research labs, or internships. (Participation in student competitions like Formula SAE, Solar Car, or Robotics Club is a huge plus).

EE Fundamentals:

Strong academic foundation in:

Power Electronics: Understanding of buck/boost converters, LDOs, and motor drivers.

Digital Electronics: Familiarity with Microcontrollers (MCU), common interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), and basic high-speed concepts.

Analog Electronics: Op-amps, filters, and sensing circuits.

EDA Tools: Basic proficiency with Altium Designer (or similar tools like KiCad/Eagle) for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Lab Skills: Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and soldering irons to debug hardware.

Problem Solving: A logical approach to troubleshooting bugs and a willingness to document findings clearly.

Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts and ask questions when stuck.

Responsibilities Design Support: Assist senior engineers in the design of PCBAs for robotics systems (including motor controllers, power distribution, and sensor interface boards).

Schematic & Layout: Create schematics for sub-circuits and perform PCB layout for simpler designs or breakout boards under the guidance of a mentor.

Component Management: Help maintain the component library by creating and verifying symbols and footprints.

Bring-up & Testing: Support board bring-up activities, execute test plans, measure signal quality, and troubleshoot hardware issues in the lab.

Documentation: Assist in preparing fabrication and assembly files (Gerbers, BOMs) and release them to manufacturing.

Collaboration: Work closely with Mechanical and Software engineering teams to ensure hardware integrates physically and functionally.

Vendor Interaction: Communicate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve simple engineering questions (EQs). Bonus Qualifications Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis or test automation. Exposure to Embedded C/C++ programming for MCUs or DSPs. Familiarity with simulation tools like LTspice. Coursework or project exposure to high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet) or camera systems (MIPI, GMSL). Understanding of basic rigid-flex or HDI PCB concepts. Interest in motor control theory or robotic locomotion.
